Project Planning and Implementation For EV Site Construction

Designing the Clean Air Communities of the Future

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Inc. (EVI), established in 1992, originally positioned itself as a nationally recognized consulting and engineering group bringing innovation to the forefront through the design and development of EV site installations. It was in 1994, that EVI then transitioned into an engineering, design and manufacturing group of safe, cost-effective equipment for the EV Industry.

With the passage of the Federal Clean Air Act and mandates by the California Air Resources Board, the Electric Vehicle charging station site design, installation and servicing has become a critical element for the vital growth of the EV industry. It was EVI's goal during this transition period to find a select group of distributors and service representatives that would continue to provide the necessary resources and management expertise for the successful implementation of this part of the industry. EVI is proud to say we found this core group and that this "Team" is as strong and supportive a group to the EV Industry ever amassed.

EVI's select group of nationwide distributors and service providers, provide a valuable service to communities, government agencies, and utilities, as well as the private sector attempting to establish a viable Electric Vehicle Program. Our team provides an objective, unbiased evaluation of available technology helping to build "EV ready" communities nationwide.

EVI, along with this select group, has the engineering capabilities, project management experience and organizational skills necessary to accomplish these programs, including the development of new equipment for the right application, all in the most cost effective and timely manner. The group has the experience in every aspect for creating your EV Infrastructure program. Our team will work with your staff to advise and recommend strategic sites for optimum results, with minimum investment.

The demand for establishing a viable electric vehicle program is not in the distant future. By the end 1999, as many as 10,000 electric vehicles are expected on the streets of North America. By the year 2003, production levels of electric vehicles are expected to exceed 20,000 per year. In just a few short years, many regions of the country will be expected to have the infrastructure in place. Communities must begin today to meet the demands that will soon be here. With the EVI "Team", you are guaranteed that your system and programs will be up and operational quickly and cost effectively.

This Group is committed to making the electric vehicle a practical alternative to present day hydrocarbon-fueled vehicles. Their track record speaks for itself. Our successful relationship with a long list of satisfied clients nationwide has shown that our comprehensive and methodical approach to design, installation, and project management, together with our "hands-on" experience and "in the trenches" approach, has made this "Team" one of the most experienced and qualified in this dynamic, emerging field.

Manual Charge Stations

MCS-100 Series
    Manual Charge Station

MCS-100 Manual Charge Station

Call for availability

Electrical vehicle users want charging stations that are easy to use, attractive, and unquestionably safe. Electrical service providers need these stations to be cost effective, rugged, and extremely reliable. That's why we developed the MCS-100. For applications that require durability and simplicity, the MCS-100 series is a superior value. As the first in an advanced line of infrastructure products, the MCS-100 also delivers standards compatibility, flexibility, and a high degree of functionality.

These ergonomically designed, wall-mounted units accommodate one vehicle at a time and have been proven through extensive use in the field. They are available now in volume.

In addition to having a UL "EV Power Outlet" listing for safety, the MCS series features an enhanced ground fault protector that removes power at the first sign of difficulty. The EVI-developed GFIX is a proprietary product that eliminates the problem of nuisance tripping caused by electrical noise generated in some on-board battery chargers. The unit removes the effects of that noise without compromising normal GFCI operation. With GFIX, nuisance tripping is virtually eliminated.  An SAE J1772 compliant pilot signal is also available with the TinyPilot option from EVI.

As a consulting resource, our successful relationship with a long list of satisfied clients has shown that our comprehensive and methodical approach to design, installation, and project management has made EVI one of the most experienced and qualified firms in this dynamic, emerging field.

When you make the switch to electric, make it simple, safe, and reliable. Take the first step with EVI and the MCS-100.

General Specifications:

The MCS-100 series use the CALSTART Infrastructure Group's interim plug configuration (NEMA 14-50R and 5-20R) and EPRI's IWC voltage standards for today's marketplace. Their switch-selectable 120V-20 amp or 208/240V-40 amp power can be wired directly to the service panel with a single 208-240V-40 amp branch circuit, reducing wiring costs. A safety switch assures that only one outlet is on at a time and provides an OFF position. The MCS series is a NEMA 3-R type enclosure with an optional locking door. Two LEDs indicate level of power delivered for either voltage.
SAE J-1772 compliant:

SAE J-1772 pilot signal available with optional    TinyPilot module.
GFCI personal protection device:

Nuisance tripping virtually eliminated on either    voltage with optional GFIX module.
Service entrance:

208/240V 40 amp, single phase, 3-wire, with    ground. Single-branch circuit splits internally to    accommodate 120V 20 amp on-board circuit    breaker.
Dimensions:

   10"W x 10"H x 8"D
Weight:

15 lbs.
Color:
